Laws & Liabilities Part 1
This course provides comprehensive training on the laws, legal responsibilities, and liability considerations affecting security professionals working in educational environments. It covers search and seizure, campus conduct, crimes against persons and property, weapons on campus, BSIS codes and regulations, mandated reporting, and liability related to school security operations. Participants will develop a stronger understanding of legal authority, reporting responsibilities, student-related incidents, and the boundaries that guide professional security decisions. Through legal awareness, observation, documentation, and appropriate response procedures, the course strengthens participants’ ability to recognize violations, manage incidents professionally, protect students, staff, and school property, and perform their duties in accordance with California law, school policies, and established security standards.
