Module
49C Active Shooter in Educational Environments
This module prepares security professionals to respond to active shooter incidents within educational environments using rapid decision-making, effective communication, and coordinated emergency procedures. Participants will examine the Run, Hide, Fight framework, lockdown procedures, directing staff, communications using phones and radios, and coordination with law enforcement. The training also addresses how response strategies may need to change based on the age group, campus environment, and evolving threat conditions in elementary, secondary, and higher education settings. By completing this module, participants will be better prepared to communicate clearly under pressure, support protective actions, coordinate with emergency responders, and adapt their response during critical incidents on campus.
