49A School Emergencies Briefing

This module prepares security professionals to respond effectively to a range of emergency situations that may occur in educational environments. Participants will examine emergency preparedness principles and appropriate response actions for fires, evacuations, earthquakes, severe weather, criminal threats, active shooter incidents, airborne hazards, and medical emergencies. The training emphasizes clear thinking under pressure, following established procedures, effective communication, incident reporting, and coordination during evacuation and reunification. By completing this module, participants will be better prepared to recognize emergency conditions, take appropriate protective actions, support coordinated response efforts, and contribute to the safety and recovery of the broader school community.
