5A Role Responsibility of Security

This module is designed to help the participant understand and define the role of a security officer. This course will teach the participant to: Comprehend the role and responsibilities of a Security Officer and a Peace Officer Acknowledge the responsibilities of a Security Officer Understand how to earn the community’s respect Understand the differences between arresting and detaining a suspect Know the process to arrest a suspect including the use of Reasonable Use of Force The purpose of this training is to teach you that the ultimate responsibility of a Security Officer is to protect people from harm, to prevent damage or destruction to property and observing/reporting suspicious activities BEFORE it occurs.

5B Report Writing

​​This module is designed to train the participant to understand how to properly write incident reports including properly gathering and documenting relevant information and evidence as well as facilitating good working relations with law enforcement. This course will teach the participant to: Write effective incident reports Understand proper evidence collection techniques and how to report that evidence Understand the value of photo & video evidence AND how to collect & transfer this evidence Forster positive relationships with law enforcement Participants will learn the difference between a FACT and a CONCLUSION. This online Report Writing training is designed for civilians and private sector professionals to be able to concisely communicate facts on all written reports.

5C Authority to Question

This module is designed to equip participants with a clear understanding of the authority that security guards have when questioning subjects or suspects, conducting inspections, and handling situations where individuals may become agitated. Participants will develop essential skills for maintaining control and ensuring safety during these encounters. This course will teach the participant to: Identify the key questions security guards should ask in various scenarios Understand the scope of a security guard’s authority Recognize the importance of sound judgment and quick decision-making in high-pressure situations Master their duties during stressful situations By the end of this online training, participants will be better prepared to stay vigilant, apply the law, and follow their specific instructions in a professional and composed manner. This module is designed to enhance personal resilience and increase the chances of successfully managing incidents before police intervention is required. Participants will gain valuable insights into how swift and informed decisions can make all the difference in security situations.

5D Factors to Consider Before Making an Arrest

This module is designed to help the participant understand the definition of an arrest and if necessary, how a security guard could potentially affect an arrest, keeping in mind there are important factors that must be considered before making one. This course will teach the participant to: Understand the definition of an arrest, as well as the procedures and requirements to do so Learn the differences between misdemeanours and felonies Proper handcuffing techniques The purpose of this training is not to encourage the security guard to make more arrests, but to teach you the law concerning arrests, so you will know what you can and cannot do under the law.

5E Making an Arrest

This module is designed to train the participant to understand proper arrest procedures, knowing the goal of physical intervention is to control a threatening situation and avoid injury to anyone involved. This course will teach the participant to: Understand restraint techniques and their implications Recognize less-than-lethal tools available Understand how to conduct proper searches after arrests Recognize and understand the Merchant Privilege Rule Participants will learn to recognize the signs of potentially lethal danger and take appropriate actions, the three kinds of approaches to overcoming resistance and to prevent unnecessary lethal outcomes.

5F Legal Standards for Use of Force

This comprehensive E-learning module is designed to equip participants with a thorough understanding of the legal standards governing the use of force. Through engaging and informative content, learners will gain critical insights into the implications and requirements associated with the application of force in various contexts. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand Legal Standards for Use of Force: Grasp the foundational legal principles and their implications concerning the use of force. Recognize the Duty to Intercede: Identify the legal obligations requiring individuals to intervene in situations involving the use of force. Understand Implicit and Explicit Bias: Learn to recognize and address both implicit and explicit biases that may influence decisions and actions. Recognize Elements of Cultural Competency: Comprehend and appreciate the importance of cultural competency in the application of legal standards and the use of force.

5G Criminal and Civil Liability

This module is designed to train the participant to recognize the definitions and differences among personal civil liability, criminal liability, and employer liability. This module will also teach the participant what the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution is and what it protects. This course will teach the participant to: Understand personal civil liability and how to reduce the risks Acknowledge what employer liability is and why it’s important Identify the Fourth Amendment and how inherent it is to US citizen's lives With this information participants will be able to avoid committing negligence or wrongful acts that may cause their employer to be held responsible; knowing the law suits may be brought against the security guard, and/or your employer under the doctrine of respondeat superior.

5H Objective Use of Force

This module offers a thorough education on the principles of objectively reasonable use of force. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, participants will learn to discern when and how force should be applied in a lawful and measured manner. Learning Outcomes: Participants who complete this course will gain the ability to: Identify Situations for Reasonable Force: Evaluate and determine scenarios where the application of objectively reasonable force is appropriate. Analyze Contributing Factors: Understand the various factors that necessitate the use of force and how to assess them critically. Grasp Authority Responsibilities: Appreciate the responsibilities that come with the authority to use force, emphasizing ethical and responsible decision-making. Course Highlights: Introduction to Use of Force: An introductory segment covering the foundational principles and legal considerations surrounding the use of force. 5I Use of Force Scenario Training

Training programs historically are instructor-based lectures that do not engage participants’ core understanding of the principles learned during a course. In this module, we will apply an understanding of the use of force principles based on our environment in a realistic and meaningful way. Scenarios Include: High-frequency low-impact situations Low-frequency high-impact situations Shoot don't shoot scenarios Less-Than-Lethal Real-Time Decision Making By immersing participants in these realistic scenarios and encouraging active decision-making, this module equips them with the practical skills and confidence needed to navigate use of force situations effectively and responsibly within our unique operational context.

5J Use of Force Supervisor Responsibilities

This module is designed to train the participant to understand the responsibilities a supervisor has with regards to Use of Force situations: Ensuring force is reduced as compliance is gained Contacting police and EMS quickly Guiding officers to complete incident reports Debriefing, identifying, and training what went right and where there are opportunities to improve By engaging with these core components, participants will emerge equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill their supervisory duties effectively in Use of Force situations, thereby promoting accountability, professionalism, and safety within their respective domains.

5K Use fo Force for Review and Analysis

This module is designed to train the participant to understand the responsibilities a supervisor has with regards to Use of Force situations: This course will teach the participant the following: Ensure force is reduced as compliance is gained Contacting police and EMS quickly Guiding officers to complete incident reports Debriefing and training what went right and could have gone better Through interactive learning experiences and practical skill-building exercises, participants will emerge from this course equipped with the knowledge, tools, and leadership capabilities necessary to fulfill their supervisory duties effectively and ethically in the complex realm of Use of Force situations.

5L Communication and Use of Force

This E-learning module is specifically designed to train participants on the acceptable responses and communication techniques related to the use of force. Through this course, learners will gain crucial knowledge and skills to handle force-related situations effectively and safely. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the Importance of Interpersonal Communication: Recognize the role of effective communication in managing and de-escalating potentially violent situations. De-escalation and Avoiding Escalation: Learn techniques to de-escalate tense situations and avoid actions that could lead to violence. Managing Disabilities or Behavioral Issues: Acquire specific strategies for addressing and managing individuals with disabilities or behavioral issues in force-related scenarios. Tactics for Using Time, Distance, Cover, and Concealment: Master tactics that leverage time, distance, cover, and concealment to handle force responses effectively and safely.

5M Use of Force Bias

This module is designed to train the participant to understand biases which may be present during Use of Force situations: This course will teach the participant: Mental health bias Political bias Racial bias Cultural bias Bias is a human trait resulting from our tendency and need to classify individuals into categories as we strive to quickly process information and make sense of the world.

5N Active Shooter Response

This online active shooter and workplace violence response program is designed to provide essential information to keep you safe in the event of an active shooter or similar type of attack. It has been crafted in a unique and immersive online program that challenges participants to make split-second decisions that could be the difference between life and death. Key elements of the training include: Situational awareness Personal preparedness Understanding threat vectors Evacuation techniques Finding cover and concealment Lockdown methodology Tactics to fight back as a last resort Case study scenarios Participants will learn proven techniques on taught by security experts based on the Run, Hide, Fight methodology. This online active shooter training is designed for civilians and private sector professionals to increase their personal resiliency and the likelihood of surviving an incident before the police arrive. By the end of the online course, participants will have a thorough understanding of how active shooter incidents evolve, increasing their resiliency.

5P PTA Exam

This is the final exam for the Powers to Arrest & Appropriate Use of Force Refresher. Prerequisites must be completed prior to taking this module.

5O Terrorism Awareness

This module is designed to teach the participant to understand the basics of terrorism and to identify high-frequency/low-impact and low-frequency/high-impact attacks. This course will teach the participant to: What terrorism is and methods to protect yourself Understand the terrorism planning cycle and the stages of a terrorist attack Learn how to differentiate between high-frequency, low-impact, and low-frequency, high-impact attacks Participants will learn to recognize the planning cycle which can help first responders and public safety personnel recognize preoperational activities, and to know “The Four D’s:” Detect, Deter, Delay, Deny and to apply them.
