45H Liability for School Security

This module provides security professionals with an understanding of legal liability and how it affects security responsibilities within educational environments. Participants will examine on-campus and off-campus liability, relevant case law, California Education Code provisions addressing student conduct beyond school grounds, and the responsibilities associated with student supervision. The training emphasizes how legal requirements, school policies, and established reporting procedures influence security decisions and professional conduct.
