18D Active Shooter Response

This module prepares security professionals to respond effectively during active shooter and workplace violence incidents through situational awareness, personal preparedness, and rapid decision-making. It covers recognizing threat vectors, evacuation techniques, identifying and using cover and concealment, lockdown procedures, and response options based on the Run, Hide, Fight methodology, including fighting back as a last resort. Through realistic case scenarios, participants will examine how active shooter incidents may evolve and develop practical strategies to improve personal resilience, make critical decisions under pressure, and increase their ability to protect themselves and survive until law enforcement arrives.
