Frequently Asked Questions
How long does renewal take?
Online renewals through Breeze are typically processed immediately or within 1-2 business days. Mail renewals may take 2-4 weeks. Plan ahead to avoid your license expiring before renewal is complete.
What if my license already expired?
If your license expired less than 60 days ago, you can still renew it using the standard renewal process. If it's been expired for 60+ days or was cancelled, you must re-apply (see Option 2 above).
Can I work while my renewal is processing?
Generally, yes - as long as you submitted your renewal before your license expired. However, some employers may have different policies. Check with your employer and maintain proof that you submitted your renewal on time.
Where can I take the 8-hour CE course?
The continuing education course must be taken from a BSIS-approved provider. Contact BSIS or check the Breeze portal for a list of approved CE providers.
I'm having trouble with Breeze. What should I do?
If you encounter technical issues with the Breeze portal, contact BSIS customer service at (800) 952-5210. They can help troubleshoot or guide you through the mail renewal process as an alternative.
