Active Shooter Prevention, Preparedness, & Response

This course provides comprehensive training in active shooter and workplace violence prevention, preparedness, and response, guiding security professionals through the full progression from recognizing potential threats to responding during an active attack. It covers early warning indicators, proactive security and deterrence, vulnerability assessment, emergency planning, policies and procedures, training exercises and drills, and scenario-based self-assessment. Participants will also develop critical response knowledge involving situational awareness, threat recognition, evacuation, cover and concealment, lockdown procedures, and the Run, Hide, Fight methodology. Through prevention strategies, preparedness planning, realistic scenarios, and rapid-response principles, the course strengthens decision-making, personal resilience, and the ability to reduce risk, protect people and assets, and respond effectively during high-risk incidents.

Role & Responsibilities of School Security

This course provides comprehensive training on the role and responsibilities of security professionals working in educational environments, focusing on the legal, organizational, interpersonal, and operational aspects of school security. It covers the history of school security, the right to safe schools, authority to question individuals, responsibilities within learning environments, and the structure and organization of educational institutions. Participants will also examine relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other educational constituent groups, along with the broader responsibilities and limitations of security personnel. Through professional conduct, communication, observation, documentation, and report-writing principles, the course strengthens participants’ ability to support safe learning environments, make appropriate decisions within their authority, collaborate effectively with school communities, and perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Laws & Liabilities Part 1

This course provides comprehensive training on the laws, legal responsibilities, and liability considerations affecting security professionals working in educational environments. It covers search and seizure, campus conduct, crimes against persons and property, weapons on campus, BSIS codes and regulations, mandated reporting, and liability related to school security operations. Participants will develop a stronger understanding of legal authority, reporting responsibilities, student-related incidents, and the boundaries that guide professional security decisions. Through legal awareness, observation, documentation, and appropriate response procedures, the course strengthens participants’ ability to recognize violations, manage incidents professionally, protect students, staff, and school property, and perform their duties in accordance with California law, school policies, and established security standards.

Laws & Liabilities Part 2

This course provides comprehensive training on professional documentation, decision-making, liability, and workplace relationships within private security and educational environments. Participants will develop effective incident report-writing skills, examine how operational decisions can increase or reduce legal exposure, and explore personal, contractor/employer, criminal, and civil liability affecting security professionals and security companies. The course also addresses professional communication and relationship-building with students and educational staff, emphasizing appropriate boundaries, cooperation, and effective coordination. By completing this course, participants will be better prepared to document incidents accurately, make responsible decisions, recognize and reduce liability risks, and maintain professional relationships that support safe, lawful, and effective security operations.

Security Awareness in the Educational Environment

This course provides comprehensive training in security awareness for educational environments, preparing security professionals to recognize risks, prevent incidents, and respond effectively to situations that may affect campus safety. Participants will develop practical skills in detecting weapons and unusual behavior, conducting lawful searches, managing potential danger situations, and working on private property that is open to the public. The course also covers crowd management, suspicious activity reporting, crime scene responsibilities, and evidence preservation. School Disasters & Emergencies

This course provides comprehensive training in school disaster and emergency preparedness, response, and coordination for security professionals working in educational environments. Participants will examine school emergency procedures for fires, evacuations, natural disasters, medical incidents, criminal threats, and active shooter situations, along with mutual aid, district-level emergency planning, and multi-agency coordination. The course also addresses lockdowns, staff direction, emergency communications, reunification procedures, and collaboration with law enforcement and other responders.
